Care Of Slate Coffee Table
Women are the strength and heart of the Pentecostal churches. They give life and sustain its operation, practicing solidarity among its members, cooperation and reciprocity. Care about their church and its parishioners with a quiet turmoil dedicated to God - your man. Pentecostal women are central to most of the activities of his congregation, except for those involving institutional decisions and policies. For that they are men. This active participation while invisible, reaffirms (and build) a gender identity reproduces inequality and domination that characterize gender relations in our society. From a critical and self-reflective, understanding gender differences as social constructs, Social Psychologist Zicri Orellana allows us to immerse ourselves in the pentecostal experience of being a woman in Chile. It does so by speaking of a holding over spaces of freedom, and yet continues to focus on the care of others in the private sphere, in the prevalence of feelings, of the reproductive and domestic. In the words of the author: the inclusion in the church is an extension of private space, hindering integration to the world public, that would be the space of recognition and which is related to power.
The arguments in this book, for understanding the complex networks of power of the Pentecostal church, while gender relations that occur within it. At the same time speaks of the possibilities of resistance within these networks of relationships, giving us an evocative text and a huge potential for subversion of gender relations in our society.

I put it to the Prefect of the Police Department, at whose side I was sitting: "I worry about the reaction population. In extreme situations, the reactions are also excessive and intemperate. The map of our musical memory hides many treasures buried by bad market or by the indolence of those who decide what is revealed and what is closed to large audiences. Review the files and read over and over again that Popular Mechanics is "the best kept secret in rock chileno" sounds like a good compliment, but also a statement of consequences and ultimately unfair stigma. is tempting to wonder how different would have been the fate of the group in other conditions, but more important is finding his admirable desire to establish their own musical and poetic parameters, and to withdraw from the cliches of a generation delivered to the British conquest in the nineties.
In the following pages of this book are the members of Popular Mechanics, his close associates, family, journalists and other witnesses who rebuild their testimonies chapters of the biography of the band.

Taxi Driver, Egor Mardones, accounts, in each of the trends and locations of a healthy young poetry in Chile, generated from different aesthetic, and with some promising projection in the space of our language.
in the area, as in the case of Thomas Harris, Nicholas Micah and Alexis Figueroa, whose aesthetic positions arise within the university and is manifest through PostScript magazines and back. This group appears as a distinct and competitive option compared to the experimental trends of the capital back in the 80's. It is a learned poetry and committed to the current theory, at least for those years. So much so that the foreword, Professor Soledad Bianchi, can not help
the temptation to write a preface under the same parent, which in Chile is already trite and tiresome, with frequent references to Walter Benjamin, Walter Ong and other prestigious linguists or philosophers. In any case, the poetry of self-worth Mardones without recommendations or sponsors. One of the most notorious in his poetry is the incorporation of elements belonging to the urban language and, where possible, those that connote an ultra modern.

are the opening lines of poems. The simple choice of a world charged with the black , as a vital element, compared to white is the absence of all, implies the need to be placed in the "bad" side of society, in the path of the cynic and not on the hypocritical.
Mardones's book saw the light thanks to a generous draft Darwin Rodriguez under the auspices of
Regional Government. Mardones was born in Tome, in 1957, and studied English at the University of Concepción, in the Austral de Valdivia, the Catholic Valparaiso and the del Valle in Cali, Colombia.

PREFACE TO THE ZEBRA
MAGIC AND THE VALLEY.
Preliminary
1.
Valley, as water is green. Sources thirsty god-languages-are among the grasses, trees and horses grazing. No one is pastor. Only a herd of clouds in the sky. Soon to be dispersed, the wind exercise their grazing reverse, when the sun (angry tiger, rooster in flames, red deer), white-devour his sheep. Birds!
Zebra scampers over the valley. Hunters (oh king's envoys hungry!) Are chasing themselves, because they are fully lined (merge themselves with Zebras: prey). The zebra-stream of white thread-skips surly, among the crags, safe from the falconer's eye: lame). Wild, God discerned, with one eye: the sun. The look, squint. Eye. Pastor of zebras. Did you see? "The valley is white, now? At the fold, the fold!
Up, God is air, the sky is a bird!

For this reason and because the two authors of this group are young people with a future as historians from the front, this book is very welcome.
Welcome also is the focus on workers took in a neoliberal era in which the importance of workers and their contributions to national development are underestimated and denigrated. In his "theoretical justification the study, "Hannibal Navarrete presents his book as an heir of the great new wave of social history in Chile in recent decades, and stresses the need to "re-humanize" the discipline from below, focusing on local history and using oral history to rescue the working memory.

seems incredible that in the XXI century there are communities that have their own historians, even more so when they started the celebrations of the bicentennial of our national independence and there are endless activities that tend to remember our past. This is mainly due to the belief that the Mega-history of Chile is now complete, however, this is not so, in recent times has gained prominence in the historiography of local micro-stories-stories. Clearly the advantages they have these on the first because they collect a lot of events and characters, but mostly entrenched local identity.
This book is the result of fieldwork carried out by students of Basic Education in General Education Continuing Education Center of the Universidad Austral de Chile at Los Angeles.
